I go to i09 and it merged with Gizmodo, not too much has changed. I rarely go to the FP here because some idiot usually attacks me just to troll. There was tons of Nascar stuff for a bit and I think that series is moronic.

I pretty much only go on there when Doug posts something. Lately it’s gotten a lot more Gawkery. I’m sure Hulkamania has a lot to do with it.

I started reading it 5 years ago and it was genuinely good. I’d say the website jumped the shark when Okulski left. The only articles I still read are DeMuro’s, Sean McDonald’s (RIP), and Rogway’s (RIP). The Fonz for your time:

I don’t think they are dying. Just some change. It happens. It has evolved a good deal since the beginning. Cross posts have been up across the network. IO9 has been hit hard too. It could be because of declining writing staff, or hopefully, to drive page views.

I feel like actual reporting has become rare. I feel like 75% of the FP is now cross posting from other Gawker blogs and the Jalopnik sub-blogs....but very little in the way actual auto news or developments.

I now go to TTAC for that info. I also spend WAY more time on Oppo than the FP. 6 months ago it was the other way around. With the sudden layoffs (i.e. Sean) I think the Gawker ship is sinking faster than anyone wants to admit.

They’re about the only people doing anything even marginally interesting these days, so this makes sense in a way.

I haven’t seen an interesting new car that average people can afford come out in quite some time. They’re either older, ultra-limited availability, or far too expensive for normal people.

I used to check Jalopnik everyday, throughout. Now I go days on end without visiting. It wasn't because of some beef or personal choice, just didn't realize I had quit visiting often until you brought it up.
